While wandering down 18 de Julio in Montevideo, we happened upon a group performing in front of the Pre-columbian Art Museum. They reminded me of Stomp, but were named Latasonica. They used a variety of barrels, pots, and PVC tubes to produce music. I thought they did pretty well. You can see, and hear, for yourself in the video above. Photos below.

Grandfather Mountain Highland Games - EJ Jones

The highland games, of course, had a bagpipe competition. Pipes were heard from dawn to dusk at the games, either from the bands, the piping competition, or the dancing.

Grandfather Mountain Highland Games - Ceildh

One of the night time, off the mountain events was a Céilidh. The Céilidh had examples of Scottish music and dance, including Scottish square dancing and a pipes and drum corp.

Grandfather Mountain Highland Games - Clandestine

There were many bands at the Highland Games. However, we only really went and watched Clandestine because EJ Jones plays. The entire band was good and quite a trip, great entertainers.
